| either the car is putting some very high load on the battery or somewhere in the battery cabling there's a less than ideal connection (ie., battery positive cabling perhaps?). When you tried to jump start the car where was the ground connection applied - car's battery post or someplace else? If battery post - try another location that's a good ground. See if that helps? On the high loading issue -- maybe something funky with the starter? Perhaps pull that and have it tested? Really stumped on why the key in Pos 1 draws the battery down so low? I'd look over the car's circuit diagram and trace out all the connections made with the ignition key in position 1 -- might help to pin down some other places to check?
